Hi all, I currently have Allstate car insurance and I bought a new car with a LoJack installed. When I tried to get the discount, they only took off $7 per month on my policy.. Looking online, I discovered that New York state mandates that car insurance companies must give a discount for LoJack, but I'm not sure how much. Insuring a second vehicle?

My husband and I both have our own vehicles but have just purchased an old Land Rover for towing our trailer tent. We have been searching insurance companies online for a cheap quote but have been getting quotes for 1000+. We only want to use the vehicle occasionally & think this is a ridiculous amount of money to pay for insurance, (especially as the vehicle only cost us 600 to buy.) Can anyone recommend a company that provides insurance at a reasonable price for an occassional-use vehicle? Thank you

Motorcycle cost monthly?

Hey guys, I have some questions for you. I am 17 years old, and want to buy my first motorcycle (supermoto). I think I have a good idea on what it costs, but i'm just unsure. First off, i'll need to get my license. What'll that cost me? (California). I do have a car license, so getting the motorcycle license should be short and sweet, but i dont know. secondly, i'm going to get some motorcycle gear. I figure I'll be in 500$ with both license and gear (nice used leathers probably). Then i am going to get the bike which costs $4000. Being a supermoto, the insurance should be cheaper right? DRZ400sm if that helps. So between monthly payments and insurance, I should be in... 200$ a month? then gas, social life, blah blah. What do you think I need to be making monthly to make this happen. I bring in 500$ a month, and have 600$ in the bank as of now.

I never had to pay for health insurance (part of family benefit package) so now I'm thinking of getting one. How much will it cost? I am healthy, work in an office (not dangerous), attend university (are there student discounts?), I am athletic,(healthy weight), I live in Los Angeles the only health issue my family has is that my dad is diabetic (but he got it when he was around 50 so i don't think it's heritable)] I need an insurance to only cover me in case something happens and I need emergency care (surgeries, hospital stay etc.) approximate numbers will be appreciated.. thank you

Why are my car insurance quotes so high?

Hi, I'm 27 with a full CLEAN UK driving licence and keep getting ridiculously high car insurance quotes. Now before anyone says I DO understand the car I would like is a high risk car but I think the fact Ive been driving accident free since 2001 (when i passed) with no claims points convictions whatsoever and 6 years no claims I should be doing better than this. The car Im trying to insure is a Mitsubishi Evolution FQ320 and cant get a quote below 2000!! I have a friend who is a few days younger than me (so nothing in it) with identical details and regularly gets quotes for the same vehicle below 1400!!! I cant see why this is. Ive tried changing my postcode to his (for the purpose of seeing if this is the difference) to no avail. Adding responsible family members as named drivers who i would legitimately allow to also use the vehicle...no difference. I almost feel like the insurance companies are picking on me for some reason? Can anyone shed any light as to what I could do to make this situation better and why this seems to be the case? Will these cars cost more to insure?

So im looking to buy my first car. The deal is I pay for the car, my parents cover the insurance, but they wont let me get a SUV or sporty car because then they have to pay more. I was looking at a Toyota Celica or Hyundia Tiburon (I kinda want a coupe so my friends wont be bumming rides all the time because ill be the only one with a car). Is this true? I mean, even the 4-cylinder 2.0L automatic models? Will these models still be considered a sports car even with the wimpy specs or were my parents mistaken? I was also looking at a Chevy Cobalt LS coupe, which is pretty much the same as the others, and my dad said it was cheaper to insure?
